Pears in Red Wine recipe

A four-ingredient recipe that delivers a whole lot of bang. A sweet and spicy wine sauce drizzled atop baked pears makes for one heavenly treat.

6 medium pears, peeled, stems left intact
1 cup red wine, divided
3 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger root

1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

2. Place pears stem side up in a baking dish just large enough to hold the pears.

3. Combine ½ cup wine, honey, and ginger in a small bowl; whisk until smooth. Pour over pears, tossing to coat.

4. Cover tightly with foil and bake 25 minutes. Remove, uncover, and baste with remaining ½ cup wine. Replace foil cover and bake 25 additional minutes, until pears are easily pierced with a fork.

5. Serve pears with remaining juices pour over the top.
