Grilled Pears with Mint Sauce recipe
Fresh pears caramelize over the direct heat of a grill, resulting in a naturally sweet dessert that's made only better with a lemon-mint sauce. If you prefer your cooked pears to have a bit of bite in them, use unripened fruits for the recipe.
Ingredients:
4 ripe pears, halved lengthwise, seeds removed
2 tablespoons melted butter
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ cup honey
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon finely minced fresh mint leaves
2 teaspoons grated lemon zest
Directions:
1. Preheat grill.
2. Brush each pear half liberally with butter and sprinkle with salt. Place on grill and cook until softened and marked, 2 to 3 minutes per side. Transfer to serving plates.
3. Meanwhile, place honey, lemon juice, mint, and zest in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat until thickened and slightly foamy, stirring, 1 to 2 minutes. Serve over pears and enjoy.
